WORKSHOP ON SHARING THE HA LONG MINISTERIAL STATEMENT ON THE STRENGTHENING OF ASEAN ANTICIPATORY ACTIONS IN DISASTER MANAGEMENT AND DISCUSSION ON IMPLEMENTING ANTICIPATORY ACTION IN VIETNAM

On July 9 in Hanoi, the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, in collaboration with the FAO in Vietnam, successfully organized a workshop on sharing the Ha Long Ministerial Statement on the strengthening of ASEAN Anticipatory Actions in Disaster Management and discussion on implementing Anticipatory Action in Vietnam.

The workshop was attended by representatives from the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control – Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the FAO in Vietnam, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Central Vietnam Red Cross Society, the Central Vietnam Women’s Union, several international organizations involved in disaster prevention and control.

The workshop aimed to share the contents of the Ha Long Declaration on Enhancing Early Action in Disaster Management, which was adopted at the ASEAN Ministerial Conference on Disaster Management held in Ha Long, Quang Ninh on October 12, 2023. The participants discussed and exchanged ideas on activities in the upcoming period to promote early action in Vietnam.
