On August 18, Miss Le Nguyen Bao Ngoc, co-founder of the Gen Zero project, collaborated with the Youth Climate Action Network (YNet Vietnam) and the Youth Policy Working Group to organize the Vietnam Youth Climate Conference – LCOY Vietnam 2024 at Hong Bang International University.
The event was attended by Mr. Le Truong Hien Hoa – Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism, Ms. Pham Thi Phuong Linh – Deputy Head of the International Tourism Promotion Department, Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, Mr. Doan Truong Quang – Member of the Standing Committee of the City Youth Union, Head of the Front – National Defense – Local Affairs Department, and Ms. Anjanette Saguisag, Head of Social Policy and Governance at UNICEF Vietnam. Additionally, the conference attracted the participation of many leaders, representatives from environmental organizations, and nearly 500 youth delegates from across the country.
The Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) is being held as a precursor to the Global Conference of Youth (GCOY), taking place in over 120 countries worldwide. This important forum provides a platform for youth to contribute their ideas and discuss pressing issues related to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP19), which is scheduled to take place in November in Azerbaijan.
