On August 12th and 13th, 2024, the Conference and Technical workshop on Supporting clean energy goals and industry development in Vietnam through standards was successfully held at the Intercontinental Saigon, focusing on the current landscape, opportunities, and risk mitigation strategies for electrification in Vietnam, particularly in battery-related industries.
The event, attended by 100 industry leaders, focused on developing standards for electrification in Vietnam. It addressed challenges in progress and explored how standards can address them. The main focus was safety issues, particularly in electric vehicles and energy storage systems. Participants discussed ways to mitigate risks, design robust processes, and implement fire prevention measures. Speakers presented innovative solutions from Singapore to inspire new initiatives.
A workshop on August 12th was held for delegates involved in developing Vietnam’s electrification standards. Expert speakers discussed EV charging, battery, and fire safety in electrification industries. The workshop also explored challenges and opportunities for Vietnam in these areas and recommended collaboration between the Directorate for Standards, Metrology, and Quality and UL Standards & Engagement.
The conference and workshop provided a valuable opportunity for participants to gain a deeper understanding of the latest developments in electrification safety and connect with other professionals in the field.
