Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) welcomes about 500 Indian M.I.C.E visitors: A vibrant encounter

In a vibrant display of cultural exchange and tourism resurgence, the HCMC Tourism Department, in collaboration with Asia Destination Management Jsc., extended a warm welcome to a delegation comprising more than 460 M.I.C.E (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) visitors from India. Arriving in the bustling city on the late evening of July 22, 2023, the delegation embarked on a five-day journey (20th – 25th July) to explore the vibrant tapestry of attractions and experiences that HCMC has to offer.

During their immersive sojourn in the southern hub, the visitors were treated to a kaleidoscope of experiences, ranging from poignant visits to historical landmarks such as the HCMC War Remnants Museum and the iconic Saigon Central Post Office to the bustling energy of local markets like Ben Thanh Market and Saigon Square shopping mall. Additionally, the delegation delved into the rich historical significance of the Cu Chi Tunnels, gaining insight into Vietnam’s resilience and spirit of innovation.

A highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the culinary exploration, where the visitors indulged in a delightful fusion of Vietnamese and Indian cuisine, savoring the diverse flavors and culinary traditions that characterize both cultures.

Beyond its immediate impact on tourism, the delegation’s visit played a pivotal role in the city’s ongoing tourism recovery efforts, bolstering HCMC’s image as a premier destination in Southeast Asia. With a focus on M.I.C.E tourism and targeting high-spending visitors, HCMC’s tourism sector is poised for further growth and development. Plans are underway to enhance service quality and introduce innovative tourism products, with the aim of positioning HCMC as one of the most dynamic and vibrant cities in the region.

Parthanil Ghosh, President of HDFC ERGO General Insurance’s retail business, expressed the growing interest among enterprises in organizing trips to Vietnam for their employees and clients. Vietnam, with its abundant opportunities for development and its natural beauty, holds immense appeal for businesses seeking unique and enriching experiences.

As statistics from January to July reveal, international visitors to Ho Chi Minh City have reached a significant milestone of 2,360,367 arrivals, with MICE tourism making a substantial contribution to this figure. As the city continues to evolve as a leading tourism destination, such vibrant exchanges serve as a testament to the enduring appeal and limitless potential of HCMC on the global stage.

Let’s take a look back at some memorable moments from the recent event:
