CONFERENCE ON HANOI AIR QUALITY MANAGEMENT PLAN
The Hanoi Air Quality Management Plan until 2030, with a vision until 2035, was the main focus of the conference held on April 11th in Hanoi.
The conference, titled “Hanoi Air Quality Management Plan”, was organized by the Hanoi Natural Resources & Environment Department on April 11th, with the aim of calling for cooperation to address the increasingly severe air pollution in the city.
In her opening speech, Ms. Luu Thi Thanh Chi – Deputy head of the Environment Protection Sub-Department, mentioned that the Hanoi City People’s Committee had approved the Hanoi Air Quality Management Plan until 2030 and outlined directions until 2035.
The plan objectively assessed the current situation of air pollution management and control in the city over time and proposed solutions to minimize this situation.
The conference outlined five objectives to be achieved:
- Enhance air quality management within the city.
- Develop and improve the air quality monitoring system and database.
- Control emissions from transportation, industrial, agricultural, and residential activities.
- Establish mechanisms for coordination among sectors and provinces within the Capital Region.
- Mobilize and ensure resources for the effective implementation of air quality improvement measures.
Experts, managers, and speakers participating in the conference all highly praised the Hanoi Air Quality Management Plan. They believed that the plan was very detailed, clear, and provided practical solutions to gradually manage and improve the alarming air pollution situation in Hanoi.
