On the morning of July 20, at the Sheraton Hai Phong Hotel, Hai Phong Eye Hospital, in collaboration with the Cornea Club (under the Vietnam Ophthalmology Society), opened the 2024 scientific conference on the topic “Amniotic Membrane Transplantation for the Treatment Ocular Surface Diseases”.
The theme of the conference was “Amniotic Membrane Transplantation for the Treatment of Ocular Surface Diseases”, focusing on the latest advances and applications in amniotic membrane transplantation techniques. Scientific presentations covered key topics including: an overview of amniotic membranes; indications and techniques for amniotic membrane transplantation; legal issues related to the acquisition and preservation of amniotic membranes; applications of amniotic membranes in the treatment of acute Stevens-Johnson syndrome; etc.
At the conference, nearly 700 delegates, including experts, researchers, doctors and medical students from various hospitals and ophthalmology institutions nationwide, were updated on new knowledge related to amniotic membrane transplantation techniques for treating ocular surface diseases. They listened to high-quality scientific reports from leading domestic and international experts and participated in in-depth discussions that enhanced opportunities for learning, experience sharing and exploring future cooperation opportunities.
