On November 1, 2024, the final round of the “2024 English speaking contest for children in disaster risk reduction and climate action” took place at the University of Languages and International Studies – Vietnam National University, Hanoi.
With the theme “Empowering Youth for a Disaster-Safe future”, the event was organized by the Department of Dyke Management and Natural Disaster Prevention and Control (under the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) in collaboration with #UNICEF Vietnam, and supported by the Government of Japan and Amslink International English System. The contest attracted nearly 5,000 students from 52 provinces nationwide.
This competition provided students with an invaluable opportunity to express their perspectives and present innovative ideas on disaster prevention as well as climate change adaptation. It also allowed them to enhance critical thinking and English language skills, fostering a positive environment for building a safer, more sustainable community.
Special congratulations to Dinh Gia Han, a 6th-grade student from Thai Binh, for winning the first prize in the contest!
HBG is proud to have supported this meaningful event by providing sound, lighting, printed backdrop services, contributing to the success of this important initiative.
