On August 23, 2024, the workshop program “Shipowner’s Liability Insurance (P&I) on Loss Prevention and Limitation” took place successfully in Da Nang. The West of England and Vietnam National Reinsurance Corporation (VINARE) jointly organized the program.

Attending the workshop were representatives of shipowners, insurance companies, and management agencies such as the Department of Register, Department of Insurance Management and Supervision, Ship Owners Association, and Insurance Association. Delegates discussed practical issues such as The situation of the Vietnamese P&I insurance market, the financial report of the WEST association, some issues in the recent settlement of P&I claims and methods to limit claims, prevent and limit losses for cargo shortages, collisions with ships, collisions with fixed objects,… and claims related to crew members. The sharing and discussion were considered very useful, providing multi-dimensional, realistic perspectives and practical solutions, contributing to improving the efficiency of P&I insurance activities, minimizing risks and protecting the interests of stakeholders.
